Four Poems by Tarquinia Molza (2020)

Four Poems by Tarquinia Molza (2020) was commissioned by the viola da gambist and singer Giovanna Baviera, as was designed for her to play and sing simultaneously. Together we chose our favourite texts by this underrecognised yet prolific Renaissance poet. I recorded Giovanna speaking the poems and used the rhythms I heard as a basis for those used in the pieces. The piece was premiered in h95 Basel on 16 October 2020
